Hurdle

Alexander’s first installment in his Mental Health Thematic Trilogy!

Alexander’s current project, Hurdle, is about a young man's journey of acceptance to seek help within himself after the traumas he has faced, and is part one of a trilogy that he has created.

The idea for Hurdle came to Alexander while he was accepting his own traumas from his past, and the traumas he has watched the people in his life experience, while trying to strive for a better path. The idea is not to give a diagnosis, but to show that a person can get better if they trust and allow themselves to get the help that they need.

Production has concluded, and will release in spring 2024. Come back soon to view a trailer for the project!

Flame-Man: First Reading

A reading from a superhero series!

Yet another project that Alexander has been working on includes a coming-of-age superhero TV series, Flame-Man, which follows a young man's life as he learns how to use his newfound fire-based abilities to rescue his town from threats that reach far into his past.

The idea for the show came from Alexander and his friends in elementary school playing imaginary games, and is something that he has continued to develop throughout his life. However, he had never attempted to write the series until now. While superhero media today seems to be overbearing and flashy, Flame-Man goes back to asking why heroes are the way they are, and leans into an ensemble based narrative that allows the audience to grow-up with the characters.

Since writing the show, there have been two readings of the episodes, with the first four episodes written and now in revisions. This excerpt comes from the fourth episode “Fire and Smoke” with Caroline Rosenblum as Indy and Sam Vana as Perry during its first workshop session.

Full Plot Description:

17-year-old Nikos Panos is a normal kid by society’s standards. However, upon coming across some suspicious criminal activity, he stumbles upon a strange chemical, granting him fire based abilities. He takes these new powers and tries to fight the ensuing crime that is mounting in his town, but in doing so, brings back an evil that has been around, but not directly seen for a very long time. His father, the mayor of the town, seems to be acting suspiciously throughout all of this, and with a mysterious murder set before the beginning of our story, it’s up to Nikos and his friends to stop this evil once and for all.
